Our Background (under Construction)
Lachlan has always had an interest in keeping his cars immaculate, even his first car, a D reg Ford Orion, was shiney and could often be found outside his parents house on a Saturday afternoon polishing for hours at a time. With such a keen interest is seemed a natural move for him to start working in valeting, first stating out with mobile valeting companies and then progressing into car dealerships. Lachlan also has qualifications gained at colledge in automotive paint application and refinishing.

Lachlan started to get interested in the concours circuit when he bought a 1994 Ford Granda Scorpio, it was clean and a good base to start on, fairly soon the layers of wax started to build and the car looked as if it had just rolled off the production line, obsession started kicked in, areas that only he would ever know were clean, were cleaned and polished. Joining the Granada Enthusiasts Club,is where it all started, as this gave him the opportunity to show at National level in competion with other cars from across the UK. One year after purchasing the car came second in the working class category at Drayton Manor in 2002 and in 2003. The following year first place was acheived.
Unfortunately a non fault accident meant the early demise of the Granada in 2004, since then various cars have been transformed, his current 1989 Ford Granada Scorpio, is being rebuilt by Lachlan as time and mechanical knowledge allows, this is one of his most ambious projects to date, every part has been dismantled cleaned, replaced or powder coated. Hopefully the Granada should be completed by 2011, two years after it was started.
At the same time, Lachlan has started to recondition a 1994 Range Rover Vouge se, a late model version with the "Brooklands" bodykit and finished in black. Again, Lachlan managed to find a good example to start with and that had the potential to be turned into something rather special, the paintwork was swirled and lacked luster and the interior was grubby, however Lachlan can see by this and knows exactly what is required to revive this monster V8 back to it's former glory. Various bits and bobs will done to enhance the car further, being 16 years old, it's not all perfect, but given time..... it will be.
The Range Rover was purchased at the end of June and already has made it's debut at the "Classic Wheels" event in Dumfries with others from www.hamilton-classics.com after having paint correction work to really give it some presence. Over the coming months, Lachlan will be focusing on Range Rover and will be making appearances at some up and coming car shows. And yes, that is Lachlan in the background getting his coffee fix.
The Company
Clyde valley detailing was set up as a detailing company from the very begining, offering high quality services that remain unmatched by any valeting company. We have built an impressive portfolio of clients and a repututation for excellence and have accomplished this by using the very best products, techniques and customer care. All our clients are private, we do not offer cheap bulk washes, quick vacuums or half services and all services are allocated by appointment only to ensure we have maximum time to spend on vehicles without rushing.
We are not tied to one individual product manufacturer, this means we can pick suitable products matched to your vehicles particular finish, however we only use branded products from the leading manufacturers worldwide, such as Autoglym, Autosmart, and Menzerna to name a few, regardless of cost and with many of the processes and products we use to detail cars are carried over to our valet services we ensure that we provide the very best care for your car, whatever service you choose. All our products retain their original packaging and are environmentally friendly.
We are not active on any detailing forums as we do try to generate business by writing three page essays on cars we have done and stopping work to take arty pictures, we would rather do the job we are being paid to do without interruption. All our referrals come from our customers who have recommended us for the exceptional quality and value for money work we produce. Pictures are available to view on our home page, but please remember we are detailers , not photographers.
On completion you will be shown round your vehicle and a detailing invoice will be issued with services performed and products used listed, we recommend that our customers retain these and pass them onto the new owner when the time comes to sell your vehicle. We will give you free advise on how to maintain the appearance of your car by recommending the appropriate products and equipment required or if preferred, suggest a maintenance plan that suits your particular requirements. Discounts are available for regular scheduled visits. A regularly detailed car will not only look good but also protect it's resale value, thus safe guarding your investment and we recommend that our customers do not use cheap roadside washes, car washes or other valeting services etc between visits as most use poor quality products and inferior equipment, resulting in possible long term damage of paintwork
